Friday

This weekend

What are you up to this weekend? Ever since Timeout became free, I feel like I've renewed my appreciation for just how much London has to offer. There are so many great things going on in London right now (V&A Hollywood Costume exhibit, The Rain Room (which the mister went to and loved), Tim Walker at the Somerset House to name a few).

I recently purchased the London Style Guide which is filled with great restaurants, shops and art galleries all over London. So between the LSG and Timeout, I can never say I don't know what to do on weekends!

Wednesday

Chevron rug

I love the look of chevron rugs. Jonathan Adler does some beautiful ones, as does West Elm in the states, but when I looked around in the UK I couldn't find anywhere that did chevron rugs (at a reasonable price) so I decided to make my own. We bought an ikea rug shortly after we moved into our flat and busyness followed by laziness meant that 8 months later I finally got around to painting it.

I should preface this with - this is a lot harder than it looks and I'm so thankful I picked a light color that was forgiving. I followed this tutorial (with a lot of help from the mister) and over the course of 2 evening was able to complete our rug.

It's not exactly straight (but the rug isn't perfectly square either) but thankfully it looks great at a distance and it has a massive table over it.

On to my next DIY project...

Friday

fond fall foods

The mister and I are currently doing the whole30 which has made me quite nostalgic for my favorite fall foods. There's something so decadent about a grilled cheese sandwich dipped in tomato soup or a warm croissant, latte (and cashmere sweater!). What's your favorite fall food?

Thursday

Fall

The crispness of the past few days has been amazing. Breathing in cold air is so invigorating. I love being out in this weather. My favorite season is upon us!

Kate Spade goodies

I've always been a fan of Kate Spade but it wasn't until I started following them on Tumblr that I realised I really love their style. Below are 2 of my most recent purchases and I have so many others bookmarked!

And just in case you didn't know, Kate Spade has 2 (!) stores in London.

Tuesday

2 things

When I was planning our wedding I loved looking at all the different ways people personalised their weddings. There are so many different things you can do (see StyleMePretty for inspiration). At a recent wedding we attended they had 2 very cute personalisations, a mad libs game to play during the cocktail hour and s'mores to roast over fire pits when the sun set.

Monday

2 years

Today, the mister and I celebrate our second wedding anniversary. This year has been a hectic, crazy and really fun (mainly due to the purchase of our flat). We always manage to weather the storm together and I couldn't image life without him. To my love. x

Friday

Barnes Food Fair

This was our first year attending the Barnes Food Fair and while no where near is big as the Barnes Fair, I still had a great time looking and smelling all the different foods. The space of the common that was sectioned off for the fair was quite small, given the number of attendees (and prams). It probably also didn't help that it was a gloriously sunny day so everyone wanted to be outside, rather than in the tents.

I am so happy we chose to move to a neighborhood that has events like this!

Thursday

Drinks at the Hawksmoor

It was the mister's birthday the other week and to celebrate we went to dinner at the Hawksmoor. The steaks of course were brilliant but I was also especially impressed with the bar. The mister and I were both early to dinner so we decided to grab a cocktail. We both ordered the Perennial Punch which was delish.

I would definitely go back for a quiet drink or two.

Monday

A few favorites

Do you ever have those days where you're literally bookmarking everything you see for later purchase? I'm having one of those months. Here's a few of the beautiful items on my wishlist.
