Nothing like some good cupcakes to kick start your weekend! Happy weekend!

rosemary and garlic lamb chops
On a week night I generally get home no earlier than 7:30pm so we try and opt for meals that don't take too long to prepare, otherwise we're eating dinner at 9pm. For this meal I make a simple balsamic, garlic and rosemary mixture and leave the lamb chops to marinade while I'm at work. (Leave a little bit of the marinade out so you can drizzle it over the asparagus.) Then I just pop the meat in the oven when I get home and wa-la!
Tuesday
meatza
When the mister and I did the Whole 30 back in October we spent a lot of time searching for recipes. One of the recipes I came across was for meatza. That's right, a pizza made with a meat base. We've tried it twice, the first time we had waaay too much ground beef as the base. The second time around we used considerably less and we rolled it really thin. It's still a little too much meat in my opinion, but maybe next time we'll get the meat to veg ratio right.
Saturday
River boat food fest
About a month ago I was cruising Twitter and I saw a tweet about River Boat Food Fest. I love eating out and I'm absolutely loving the surge of street food vendors in London, the problem is they're all in East London which is a haul from Barnes.
Once I saw River Boat Food Fest was in Vauxhall, I snapped up tickets immediately. The food, atmosphere and location did not disappoint. I really hope there's more stuff like this South of the river in the near future!

takeaway
It's been another busy busy week! The mister and I just grabbed some delicious takeaway fish and chips from one of our favorite restaurants in Barnes, The Tree House, and settled in to watch Wimbledon. Go Murray!
Monday
The Botanist
Continuing our exploration of Kew, the mister and I grabbed a pint at The Botanist, a fantastic microbrewery. I had the sampler of which 2 of the beers were excellent and the third, Kew Green, tasted like cherry cough syrup. Needless to say, I left that one.
Guess who got this pint? |
